It's Spring!

Hi there, not much to tell, but everything is fine and we are at last getting some warmer weather. The days are lengthening and we are looking forward to making the most of the lighter evenings soon. Girls break up for 2 weeks on Friday so we are off camping the second week - more photos then! Hope you are all enjoying the Indian Summer at home. Much love S,P, K, H &IXXX

Thredbo Sep 08

Back from a long weekend in Thredbo - sorry to bore you all again, but we had a fantastic time. The weather was warm and sunny and the snow was lovely. However, this was probably the last good weekend of the season as we saw slopes melt before our eyes on Sunday as the weather changes here are pretty radical - spring is definately here to stay for a while. We stayed in nearby Jindabyne by a lovely lake and travelled the 20 mins or so to Thredbo each day. Immi went to ski club for the first time and amazingly at just 3 can now go up a chair lift and ski all the way down turning and stopping in the right places. The 'big' girls skied all day everyday with us and we had lots of fun jumping and racing - it is a great sport to be able to do altogether and it looks like Immi will soon be there with us!!! Anyway I promise no more skiing photos for a year now.... next trip is camping early Oct when the girls have 2 weeks spring holidays. Hope you are all well - we do miss family and friends so much and that is definately the huge down side to all the ups we are having. xx

Immi's 3rd Birthday

Immi had a lovely birthday - thanks for all the presents and cards. She loved her pink cake with lots of strawberries (fav food). Love Immixxxxx

Book Week

Holly had Book Week this week where all the children had to dress up as their favourite character from a book. Holly insisted on catching the bus - Katie was so embarrassed!

Skiing in Australia August 2008

Hi there once again. We have just returned from our second weekend in the snow - last Sunday to Selwyn and this Sunday Thredbo. It takes about 2 1/2 hours from here so doable in a day which is great - the bonus of living in Canberra for all you snow lovers! It was great to get the skis back on and even better to see the girls getting right back into it - they now ski off together on their own which is fantastic although we just wish Immi was up to going with them!! Talking of Immi, she had her first ski and was actually great - not even 3 and can ski pretty well, just wish she wasn't so strong willed...... enough said. Had visions of Susan and Eric and their time at Thredbo - strangely enough didn't see anyone in flip flops and T shirts though Eric!!! Great snow and you both would have showed the Aussies a thing or 2 over here - maybe one day you can come back! Well miss you all very much, but as you can see we are making the most of the winter (how strange when it should be summer). Saw the first daffodils today.... bizarre x

Life in Jerra August 2008

Hi there, Just thought we would post some photos of our local area. Since we have had Chester to stay, we have discovered some fantastic walks from the house. Went out this afternoon and took the camera - I am turning into a true bush walker! However, I appear to be the only one out there - I am missing something?? Maybe the snakes in summer will put me off, but for now I am enjoying listening to a bit of Ronan and pretending to be David Bailey/Barbara Woodhouse!
