Merici Athletics Carnival May 08

Hi there, Just thought I would let you all know how I did on my first School Athletics Carnival on Tue. We all went to the Australian Institute of Sport for the day which was amazing. I ran on a proper track which was pretty scary. I entered the first race of the day which was the 1500M and mum had to drop me off early as it started before anyone arrived to cheer us on. I came first in my year! I also entered the 800M and 400M and came first in both too - I was not so good in the 100M where I came fifth but did ok in the 200M coming 2nd. I was the only girl to enter all the races and Mum thought I must have been mad. I couldn't move the next day. Yesterday I ran for the school cross country team and qualified for the Districts in June. I think I have caught the running bug which Mum and Dad are very happy about!!! Miss you all Love Katiexx

Day to Day

Hi all, Just time for another short Blog. Weather has turned soooo cold and the house is clearly built for summer and not the Canberra winters. Had a lovely bike ride last night and in the usual Dorsett fashion, we underestimated how far it was..... we did get back before dark though- just! We are discovering more and more about this country, but are yet to do some of the biggy things - I guess there is lots of time for that, but with alot to sort on the house and the local area to discover we are kept pretty busy. It is definately the outdoor life here which of course suits us well - never a dull moment. We hope to go to Blue Mountains in 2 weeks so look out for the pics. Hope you like these. Visit to Sydney April 2008

A few weekends ago we went back to Sydney although the girls had thought we had 'done' Sydney as we had seen the Bridge and Opera House from the plane when we landed here back in Feb! It was a fantastic weekend and we crammed so much in with the girls walking for 8 hours the first day and 6 the second! We went to the Aquarium and Wildlife Park, shopped in the QVB and spent ages in the Botanical Gardens and caught the ferries like taxis. It was great and can't wait to go back - it is only a 3 hour drive from here which is nothing in Australia!

Blog us in OZ

Hi Everyone,

Just thought we would start a BLOG for you all to keep up to date with our progress and having seen one that our friends did after recently emigrating to NZ we thought it was a fantastic way for you to keep in touch. Save it to your desktop if you can. We are all settled now and in our new house which is very Australian and modern! All of our things are now here which is lovely but a constant reminder of what we have done... the pictures are lovely and mean so much now that we have been here 3 MONTHS! Can you believe it? Girls have settled really well, Katie gets on with and is as accepting as ever (not yet a teenager thankfully), Holly is dramatic but always looks forward and Immi is as challenging as ever - terrible 2s!! Paul is happy at work and I am a domestic goddess (in my head!). Roll on more coffee mornings, baking and sticking and painting... not much different to my old job really! Hope you like the BLOG - Send us a message and keep in touch - we will update regularly. Much love to you all P,S,K,H&IXXXXXXXX

Anzac Day

A couple of weeks ago we celebrated Anzac Day which was fantastic. Paul was up early for the Dawn Service and then we all went to local Queanbeyan for the march through town ceremony. Holly marched through with the school so we thought you would like to see this photo of her on the day... a real Aussie Chick!
